Jan. 1, 2018 Houston, Texas – The Woman’s Hospital of Texas at West Houston welcomed first New Year’s baby Destin Eyinade into the world at 5:20 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2018. Destin, the son of Adedej and Motunrayo Eyinade was the first delivery of 7 babies whose mothers were in labor at the time.
Obstetrician Howard Schreiber delivered the healthy baby boy. Destin was 21.25 inches and weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces. He was one of 7 babies born this morning at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas at West Houston.
In 2017, The Woman’s Hospital of Texas at West Houston delivered more than 2,690 babies.
“All deliveries are exciting, but there’s something extraordinary about New Year’s Eve,” Lashonda Madison, Manager of Woman’s Services said. ”There’s a special energy in the hospital, and we all look forward to seeing who is going to be the first to ring in the New Year!”
