HOUSTON, TX – June 6, 2016 – HCA affiliated West Houston Medical Center’s (WHMC) chief executive officer, Todd Caliva, announced Philip Morris has been named the facility’s chief operating officer. Morris previously served as the associate chief operating officer at HCA affiliated Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Morris received his Master of Science in Health Systems Administration from Georgetown University in Washington, DC; there, he was a member of the Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society. Morris earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.  Morris is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and National Association of Health Services Executives.

Serving as the market lead for neurosciences at Research Medical Center, Morris oversaw quality improvements including The Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification. Morris successfully led development and implementation of standardized practices across the Midwest Health division to reduce variation in delivery of stroke care, under his leadership two centers achieved the highest American Heart Association recognition for stroke care.
