Neurosciences
West Houston Medical Center provides all levels of neurosciences services, from simple diagnosis and treatment to complex rehabilitation. We diagnose and treat brain tumors, stroke, trigeminal neuralgia, spasticity and other neurological conditions.
Our diagnostic tools and treatment tools include:
- Positron emission tomography (PET) scans
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Computerized tomography (CT) scans
- EEG, EMG, carotid ultrasound, echocardiogram and digital angiography
- Stereotactic radiosurgery
- Hypothermia Treatment
Gamma Knife technology
These services complement our treatment options found at the Sugar Land Cancer Center, which includes radiation therapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT).
Stroke Center
When minutes count, the stroke center at West Houston Medical Center offers the treatment, care and technology needed to avoid long-term disability or death. Our stroke center is accredited by the Joint Commission, which means our program follows national standards and guidelines that can significantly improve outcomes for stroke patients.
We also provide neurological expertise for the hospital’s Behavioral Health for Seniors program.
