Many times you need extra therapy to fully recover from an injury or illness. West Houston Medical Center offers full-service rehabilitation services to help adults and children function at their best. Our rehabilitation services are tailored for each individual and include:
- Aquatics therapy
- Occupational therapy
- Pelvic floor dysfunction and incontinence
- Physical therapy
- Speech therapy
These services are provided for both inpatients and outpatients. Different therapies are offered at various days and times, and a doctor’s referral may be required, so please call 281-588-8249 for more information and for appointments.

Aquatic Therapy
Aquatic therapy, also called water therapy or pool therapy, can make it possible for people to rehabilitate when traditional land-based therapy is too difficult or painful.
Who needs aquatic therapy? People of all ages who have trouble moving because of:

- Back pain
- Recovery from surgery for hip, knee or shoulder replacement
- Heart Surgery
- Fibromyalgia
- Guillain-Barre syndrome
- Lymphedema
- Multiple Sclerosis

West Houston’s aquatic therapy takes place at the Clay Road YMCA at 10655 Clay Rd.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists help people who, because of physical, developmental, social or emotional issues, need special help to lead independent, productive and satisfying lives. They work closely with your doctors, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists or audiologists and social workers.
Who needs occupational therapy? People of all ages who have with everyday tasks because of:
- Babies and older children with birth injuries, learning problems or developmental disabilities
- Work-related injuries
- Heart attack, stroke and neurological conditions
- Arthritis, multiple sclerosis and many other serious illnesses
- Mental health problems
- Burns, spinal cord injuries and amputations
- Broken bones or other injuries from sports, falls or accidents

Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and Incontinence

Our Rehabilitation Services Group offers from specially trained female occupational therapists. All sessions are conducted in private rooms.

Physical Therapy
