Volunteers perform many vital services for patients, families and staff at the West Houston Medical Center and Sugar Land Diagnostic Center. In 2011, our volunteers gave more than 25,000 hours of their time.

Volunteers help staff the information desks, gift shop, patient registration, surgery waiting rooms, and administrative departments. They guide visitors through the hospital, help with paperwork, and create patient tray favors, holiday decorations and newborn gifts.

The efforts of our volunteers and sales from the gift shop help fund scholarships for medical study, and community projects.

Volunteers are always needed with a variety of skills and interests. Many days and shifts are available. Our highest needs are in our gift shop, at our registration desk and at our information desks.
