Freddy L., Hurst
Freddy Hurst is Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Bank Westchase Market.
Freddy earned his Masters in Business Administration in 1976, and his Bachelors in Finance in 1974 from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He is currently President of the West Houston Leadership Institute; a member of the Board of Directors of the Houston West Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Regional Advisory Board of Directors - Health Care of America.
Freddy and his wife Kim have two daughters, one attending Oklahoma State University concentrating on a degree in Aviation Management, and the second in the eighth grade at Texas Christian School.
H.D., Chambers
H.D. Chambers has devoted the past 26 years to public education in Texas. Prior to taking on the leadership role as superintendent of schools for Alief ISD in the spring of 2011, Mr. Chambers had served as superintendent for Stafford Municipal School District.
He began his career in education in the Aldine ISD where he spent six years as a teacher and coach. He then served 14 years in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in campus and central administration roles before going to Stafford in 2006.
Mr. Chambers holds leadership positions in the following:

- Texas School Alliance – Board Member

Irma, Sanchez
Irma Sanchez has been with the Westchase District since January 2000. She is the Vice President, Projects for the Westchase District, a position she assumed in May 2004. Prior to that, while attending the University of Houston, Irma was the Assistant Projects Director. Irma’s current responsibilities include the District’s Area Image and Beautification, Mobility, and the Westchase District Long Range Plan.
Irma is a member of Land Institute, West Houston Association, Scenic Houston, Houston Galveston Area Council Ped-Bike Committee and serves as Board Secretary for Houston West Chamber of Commerce. Irma also serves on the Board Directors for West Houston Medical Center.
Houston has always been Irma’s home. She graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts. Irma, her husband, their 3 ½ year old daughter, Xiomara, and their three dogs reside in northwest Houston. They are active members of Willowbrook Christian Church. Irma is an avid marathoner, CrossFitter and manages and plays in a co-ed soccer team.
Jeannie M., Bollinger
Jeannie Bollinger is currently the CEO and President of the Houston West Chamber of Commerce, a business membership organization with over five hundred members representing approximately 43,000 employees in west Houston.
Jeannie holds a Master's Degree in Counselor Education from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Pembrook.
Prior to joining the Houston West Chamber of Commerce, Jeannie served as the manager of Administration for AquaSource, Inc., a nationwide water utility. Before joining AquaSource, Inc., Jeannie served as the Associate Director of the ESCAPE Family Resource Center, a well established child abuse prevention agency. Jeannie is the former President of Texas Talkers, the oldest Toastmaster Club in Houston. Some of her past community service includes: Parent Chair for the Annual Seeds of Growth Campaign for The Parish School; Community Chair for Houston's citywide annual Christmas Trees for Children Project; parent representative on the Elkins High School Key Club and Elite Dance Team and AFS-Intercultural Education Program supervising host families and exchange students on Houston's Westside. She was unanimously elected President of the Houston Chamber Alliance, a business advocacy organization; she serves on the board of the Spring Branch Partners in Education and the American InterContinental University's Business Development Board. She is recognized in Who's Who - International, American Women, American Business Women, and Southern Women.
Jeannie is marred to Erik Hedegaard. She has a twenty-two year old daughter who is a recent graduate of Texas Christian University and two lovely step children who attend school in Katy. She has lived in Houston since 1981.
John Smith,, M.D.
Dr. John Smith is an Internal Medicine physician on staff at West Houston Medical Center.
Dr. Smith was born in Marion, Ohio and earned his Bachelors Degree from Ohio State University in 1959. He attended Ohio State University for his Medical Degree and graduated in 1963. He was a U.S. Navy Medical Officer from 1964 to 1966 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor in 1968. Dr. Smith also completed a residency in pulmonary disease in 1970 at Baylor College of Medicine. He was in private practice for thirty years at Rosewood Medical Center and has been at West Houston Medical Center since 2000.
Dr. Smith has four grown sons and his son Zachary Smith has joined him in practice at West Houston Medical Center.
Magdy Rizk, M.D.
Dr. Magdy Rizk is an OB-GYN physician on staff at West Houston Medical Center.
Dr. Magdy Rizk was born in Cairo, Egypt and received his M.D. from Cairo University, Faculty of Medicine in 1966. After completing his residency in Albany, New York, Dr. Rizk practiced in various British hospitals throughout London, England. In 1991, Dr. Rizk brought his skill and expertise to the West Houston community and has been serving in the area ever since. His practice philosophy is to provide the best and latest medical care in the most compassionate and friendly atmosphere.
Dr. Rizk is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Royal College of OB/GYN London, England, Texas Medical Association and the American Fertility Society
Maura Walsh, President - HCA Gulf Coast Division
Maura Walsh is president of HCA Gulf Coast Division, a network of hospitals and healthcare facilities in Houston and South Texas that includes Clear Lake Regional Medical Center and Mainland Medical Center. She began her healthcare career in 1980, holding executive roles at hospitals in Vermont, Arkansas, and Texas. She joined HCA in 1987, eventually serving as CEO for three different hospitals within the division.
Exemplifying a grass roots approach to understanding her community’s healthcare needs, Maura actively serves as a board member for a number of local organizations, including the Greater Houston Partnership, the American Diabetes Association – Houston, the American Heart Association – Houston, and others. She is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the American Hospital Association Governing Council.
Maura has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lowell and a master’s degree in human resources management from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. The latter institution recently awarded her with their Distinguished Alumni Award.
Neal Grossman,, M.D.
Dr. Neal Grossman is a Pediatrician on staff at West Houston Medical Center. Dr. Grossman was born in New York and raised in Miami. He graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia with a Phi Beta Kappa honor and received his B.A. degree from Emory. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine.
Dr. Grossman completed his pediatric residency in Houston at Texas Children's Hospital and the Baylor Affiliated Hospitals. He has been in private practice in the West Houston area since 1977 most recently practicing general pediatrics with Texas Children's Pediatric Associates. He has been an active member of West Houston Medical Center since it opened in 1985.
Dr. Grossman is board certified in Pediatrics. He is a member of the Harris County Medical Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Houston Pediatric Society.
Dr. Grossman is married and has three grown children and one stepdaughter. He also has three grandchildren. He loves to travel, scuba dive and ski.
Nghi T., Ho
Nghi Ho is a Financial Planner and the Owner of the investment firm Royal Oaks Financial Group.
Nghi has resided in the southwest Houston community since the late 70's and graduated from Alief Elsik High School, with honors. He then attended the University of Texas at Austin on a four year U.S. Navy ROTC scholarship, earned a B.A. Degree in Biology/Pre-Med, and was commissioned as a U.S. Navy Officer. He then served 5 years in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and San Diego, California. Nghi resigned from the Naval Service as a Navy Lieutenant shortly after the Persian Gulf War to return to his hometown in Southwest Houston.
Nghi was re-elected to his third term as a member of the Board of Trustees at Alief Independent School District. He continues to volunteer as a business partner in education, as a guest speaker/teacher with Economics and Mathematics classes at Alief Elsik, Hastings, and Alief Middle & Albright Middle Schools. Nghi's passion is helping with school classes with the Houston Chronicle's Stock Market Game. He is also a Junior Achievement volunteer for Liestman Elementary.
Nghi is happily married to Agnes, and has a 16 year old son and a 13 year old daughter.
Peter Curtis,, M.D.
Dr. Peter Curtis is a General and Vascular Surgeon on staff at West Houston Medical Center. He is a past Chief of Staff; past Chief of Surgery; past Chair of the Board of Trustees; past Medical Director of ICU and has served as physician advisor for West Houston Medical Center.
Dr. Curtis is a graduate of the University of Bristol in Bristol England. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association; the Harris County Medical Society; the Royal College of Surgeons of England; the Singleton Surgical Society and the Southern Medical Association.
Ramon Creixell, , M.D.
Dr. Ramon Creixell is a family medicine physician on staff at West Houston Medical Center. He is American Board of Family Medicine certified and part of West Houston Family Practice Associates, a private practice located on Richmond Avenue.
Dr. Creixell received his bachelors from the University of Houston with a major in psychology in 1992. He completed his Medical Degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston and his residency at St. Joseph's Hospital Family Practice Program in Houston.
Dr. Creixell founded the Renegades Soccer Club in Houston and was also the Manager of Operations.
Rita Makhlouf, M. D.
Dr. Rita Makhlouf was born in Lebanon and earned her Bachelors Degree from the American University of Beirut in 1984. She continued her studies at the American University of Beirut and received her Doctor of Medicine in 1988. Dr. Makhlouf then relocated to North Carolina where she received specialty training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
Dr. Rita Makhlouf is married to Dr. Fahim Farhat and they live with their two children in the West Houston area.
Sandie, Mullins
Sandie Mullins has led a life engrossed in the success of the community in which she lives. As Houston Community College Board Trustee for District VI, she offers a background that uniquely complements the Board in its current form. Sandie has a deep understanding of the relationship between a community and its leaders, and the needs of those who work to live and thrive in West Houston.
Sandie received her MBA from St. Mary's University and was elected President of the Graduate Business Student Association. Sandie is the only member of the Board with an MBA, bringing a supplemental value to the esteemed group currently assembled.
Sandie has also been a civic leader. She served as Coordinator for Super Neighborhood 17. Her tenure with the Houston West Chamber of Commerce includes serving as Co-Chair of the Business and Education Committee and the West Houston Public Safety Committee. She has been and is a member of the Chamber's Governmental Affairs, Economic and Teacher of the Year Committees. The Chamber recognized her work, naming her the Committee Volunteer of the Year.
Within the education community, Sandie has been a member of several PTO Boards and Shared Decision Making Committees. She recently sat on the West Region P-16 Education Council, which reviews and recommends curriculum alignment.
March of Dimes Walk America, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Humana and Texas Children's Hospitals, Collaborative for Children, West Houston Leadership Institute and Grace Presbyterian Church are several of the non-profit endeavors to which Sandie has dedicated her time.
For all of Sandie's extensive commitment to her community, it is her family that is at her core. Sandie is married to Charlie Moger and they are proud parents of six children. Sandie lives just a mile from where she grew up in West Houston, and they attend Grace Presbyterian Church.
Sol Hamburg,, M.D.
Dr. Sol Hamburg is an Ophthalmologist on staff at West Houston Medical Center. He is Board Certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Hamburg is a graduate of City College of New York with a Bachelors of Science, majoring in mathematics. He attended Medical School at Yale University and graduated in 1981. His internship in Internal Medicine was served at Norwalk Hospital and then he completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1985.
Dr. Hamburg is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology and the Harris County Medical Association.
Stephen Mahoney, M.D.
Dr. Stephen Mahoney is a long-time Houstonian graduating from Memorial High School. He then attended and graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame. He received his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas and then completed his Dermatology residency at the University of Texas at Houston. During this time, he has received extensive training in medical and surgical Dermatology as well as Dermatopathology and Cosmetic Dermatology including Botox, Restylane, Juvederm, Sculptra and laser treatments. He has been in private practice, owning West Houston Dermatology since July of 1993.
Dr. Mahoney is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He holds an academic appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He has served on several national Dermatology Advisory Boards and lectures regionally on topics including acne, psoriasis, Botox, Restylane, Juvederm and laser treatments. He is the Medical Director of Cosmetic Services for Advanced Aesthetic Institute (AAI), a prominent aesthetic laser leasing company.
Todd Caliva, Chief Executive Officer
Todd Caliva has been Chief Executive Officer at West Houston Medical Center since 2006. Prior to coming to West Houston he was CEO at East Houston Regional Medical Center for three and a half years. Todd's focus is on employee, patient and physician satisfaction. His philosophy is that high satisfaction will impact the delivery of care and the success of the hospital. Todd is a Certified Healthcare Executive and the recipient of Modern Healthcare's Up and Comer Award, an award bestowed on healthcare executives under the age of 40.
Todd is a graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelors in Marketing and Masters in Business. He began his healthcare career while in college working in positions such as business development, marketing, managed care, and physician recruitment. While completing his masters, he was the Director of Business Development at Doctors Hospital East Loop; Physician Services Manager at Columbia SunBelt Medical Center; Director of Business Development and then Associate Administrator at HCA East Houston Medical Center and Chief Operating Officer at The Woman's Hospital of Texas.
In addition to managing the hospital, Todd is committed to serving the community. He is the 2009 President Elect for the Houston West Chamber of Commerce and a 2007 Graduate of the 2007 West Houston Leadership Institute Class.
Todd is an avid golfer having attended the University of Houston on a four year golf scholarship. He and his wife are the parents of two daughters.
Zachary R., Hodges
Dr. Zachary Hodges is the President of the Houston Community College Northwest. He has a long and distinguished career in higher education but most importantly, he has been committed to establishing the community college in Katy/West Houston as a critical part of the infrastructure of the community.
Dr. Hodges holds a Bachelors in History and a Masters in Counseling from Texas A&M - Commerce. His doctorate, also in Counseling, was awarded by Texas A&M - Commerce. He was named an American Council of Education Fellow in 1992 and served as Chair of the Council of Fellows, the Executive Committee of the Fellows Program, during 1999-2000. He is a graduate of the Community College President's academy, and the League of Innovation Executive Leadership Institute. Dr. Hodges is a member of Class XV of Leadership Houston and Class XIX of the American Leadership Forum. He served on a statewide committee for the Texas A&M University's College of Agriculture: Visioning for the 21st Century and was recently appointed to the Commission on Effectiveness through the American Council on Education, the premiere higher education group in the country and also serves on the Innovation and Emerging Technologies Committee for the American Association of Community Colleges.
In 2003, Dr. Hodges was selected to the Hall of Honor for Texas College Presidents by Phi Theta Kappa, the honor society for community colleges.
Dr. Hodges has served on various community boards in the Houston area, including: United Way's Management Assistance Program Board, Partners in Education and Career and Technology Boards of the Katy and Spring Branch School Districts, the Altharetta Yeargin Art Museum in Spring Branch, and District Chairman of the Mustang District of the Boy Scouts of America. He was honored by the Greater Katy Area Chamber of commerce as its Citizen of the Year in 2004.
